Product suite for occupational health domain with offline first approach

Overview

This product was refurbished from a legacy application. Since this product needs to be used in locations where the users had limited access to the internet connectivity, we designed an offline-first approach. The users can take input via the application even when the internet is not available and once, they are connected to the internet the offline collected data will be synchronized to the main server. Apart from this key pain point, we also made sure this product was built with cutting-edge technologies like GraphQL for data consummation, Dockers and Ansible scripts for automated deployment, React Native for mobile applications. Microservices architecture was also in place where this application catered to the intensive reporting needs of the product. There are multiple ways in which reports are being generated for this product. One way is to generate the reports via a web application that was built as a part of this platform and another way is to connect the product’s data source to a reporting tool like PowerBI or Tableau.

Challenge

Modernize the legacy platform to improve its usability. Since this product needs to be used in locations where the users had limited access to the internet connectivity, we designed an offline-first approach. Reduce the operation cost A complete offline, SOC 2(System and Organization Controls) compliant & Security. Enhanced reporting solution for a Workplace Health platform​.

Solution

The platform supports offline first data capturing with end-to-end encryption. ​ We have designed the application for security & SOC 2 compliance to cater to the 5 trust principles (Security | Privacy | Availability | Confidentiality | Process Integrity)​

Outcome

We achieved creating adaptive cards by plotting the card-based UI, the output is created in the form of JSON that adhere to Adaptive Card’s schema. Pic2card pipeline implementation is available at Repo.
